Accident - Collision Monday 11am

Another accident happened today at around 11am. A woman and her baby were travelling outbound towards Allestree. As they passed by Saint Benedict School a car coming towards the city made contact. Winger mirrors on both cars were smashed off. The wing mirror on the womans car was hit with such force that is smashed through the drivers side window sending glass flying in to the vehicle. The woman was treated for shock and cuts caused by the glass. Luckily the baby was protected by the position of the car seat. This is a typical accident caused by the narrowness of the lanes. Cars are passing very close together and for the most part are still exceeding the speed limit. We are very relieved that this accident was relatively minor however what can begin as minor can soon turn in to something major. We are expecting head on collisions and a range of other accidents and unfortunately our predictions so far have come true. A photo taken by a witness will be published shortly.
